Director of MSP Operations

James Nickel is a dedicated IT professional with a strong focus on quality and a proven track record in systems administration and software/hardware support. His ability to deliver solutions that align with business and technology objectives, coupled with his proficiency in a wide range of platforms and environments, makes him a valuable asset in the IT field.

Currently, James serves as the Director of MSP Operations at PCH Technologies, a role he assumed in June 2023. Prior to this, he held the position of Senior IT Lead at the same company, demonstrating his ability to take on increasing levels of responsibility.

James has been with PCH Technologies for over 9 years, during which time he has also worked as an IT Consultant. In this role, he provided a full range of IT services for businesses, including the installation and management of various solutions, network segmentation and security, virtualization services management, Office365 deployment, and compliance maintenance.

Before joining PCH Technologies, James worked as an IT Implementation Technician II at Continuum Health Alliance. Here, he was involved in planning and coordinating new business installations, setting up and configuring various systems, and providing elevated support for the Help Desk service department.

Earlier in his career, James served as a Systems Administrator at Capmark, where he monitored and repaired system problems for over 100 servers, managed server updates, performed backup and restore jobs, and ensured all systems were up-to-date and protected.

James also has experience working as a Systems Administrator for the United States Marine Corps, where he provided 24/7 network support to over 700 users.

James is known for his effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex processes in easy-to-understand terms for end users. His proactive approach to identifying and resolving critical system/network issues has been instrumental in his success in the IT field. His contributions across various roles demonstrate his commitment to quality and his ability to drive IT operations effectively.
