Protect Your Sensitive Data With Our Server Encryption Service

It’s no secret that the digital revolution is something of a mixed bag. Of course, mass instant communications, computer-aided archiving and processing, etc. make it a lot easier to run a business, at least on the surface. It’s hard to imagine going back to the pre-computer ways of doing things. It’s almost depressing in fact, isn’t it?

Still, at the same time, this technology has become something of a terribly destructive weapon for those with ill intent. Viruses enable corporate sabotage, acts of terror and a path for disgruntled employees to seek revenge. Ransomware allows criminal organizations to hold data hostage for ridiculous amounts of money. Spyware and malware allow espionage, data and information theft, and of course, direct monetary theft as well. These are all legitimate dangers, any one of them able to bring even a large business to its knees. Understandably, you need the best security measures possible. To combat these threats, you need decades of experience and knowledge we have here at PCH Technologies.

Our comprehensive cybersecurity services work not only to shore up your defenses and provide total backup and restoration solutions but to also empower your staff to make wise decisions. That’s the PCH Technologies difference – we believe in the power of information and knowledge, and giving you the ability to take your destiny in your own hands moving forward. This is philosophy rings true in all of our services, including our comprehensive server encryption systems!

What Encryption Does For You and How It Works

Server encryption is a powerful way to prevent various forms of cyber threats from actually succeeding. Even if a breach happens, spyware, ransomware, and malware are unable to actually spy on data and correspondence, due to the encryption rendering it unreadable without critical ciphers and keys.

Encryption, in general, is far from an old concept, with Roman generals famously employing (for then) very elaborate cryptographic strategies to ensure that, should their messengers be intercepted, the mission-critical data they carried would be of no use to their enemies. Since those ancient times, encryption has evolved significantly, especially once the computer age really got underway.

Today, standards include AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) at 128-bit or 256-bit specifications. These advanced encryption algorithms would take literally years or centuries to brute force, meaning any attempts to crack these are basically pointless by way of practicality alone.

Isn't Encryption Slow?

At one point, the answer to this was “yes”. But, with multi-threaded implementations designed by Microsoft and other top-rated development houses, modern encryption, with its granular data selection, is incredibly fast. Coupled with cloud storage and computing, and random access of encrypted server data can seem every bit as quick and responsive as any local, unencrypted data. It’s literally impossible to notice the difference.

Is It Future Proof?

These encryption standards aren’t going to go away. It’s easy to assume that, given time, newer encryption technologies will come along. It’s also easy to expect computers to evolve to the point where they can actually brute force older encryption within a reasonable time.

The truth is the matter is, AES 128 and AES 256 would require dedicated quantum computing to crack in a human lifespan, and that’s just not going to be happening any time soon. You can rest assured these encryption standards will serve your business in remaining secure and spyproof for years to come!
